CATBALOGAN CITY — A total of 1,305 graduates from the tertiary and graduate programs of Samar Colleges, Inc. were conferred their degrees during the institution’s 76th Commencement Exercises, held on May 30, 2025, at Tandaya Hall, Catbalogan City.

With the theme “Unwritten Chapters: The Next 75 Years of Excellence,” the ceremony highlighted the academic achievements of the Class of 2025 and their readiness to face the future with purpose and determination.

Renowned philosopher, educator, and author Dr. Rex D. Bacarra delivered the commencement address, inspiring graduates to meet life’s uncertainties with courage, resilience, and a deep sense of pride in their roots.

“Let your degree be not a decoration, but a declaration of your life,” Dr. Bacarra said. “...But always have courage. And when they ask you where you found the courage to rise, the strength to lead, and the fire to dream, tell them! Tell them proudly: ‘I am from Samar. Where the storms made me unbreakable. And Samar College made me unstoppable.”

The ceremony opened with a formal processional, followed by an invocation, the national anthem, and a welcome address delivered by Vialyn E. Bulan, a graduating BSBA student. The event also featured the awarding of medals and special citations to students who demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and service.

As the graduates marched across the stage, Tandaya Hall witnessed a ceremony marked by heartfelt pride and aspiration. Families, faculty, and guests filled the venue, celebrating not only academic achievement but also the discipline, perseverance, and clarity of vision that carried the graduates to this milestone. It was a defining moment for a generation molded by challenges and determined to rise above them.

As it moves forward, Samar Colleges continues to uphold its mission of shaping future-ready professionals. With sharpened focus and unwavering resolve, the Class of 2025 steps into the next chapter—empowered to lead, serve, and contribute meaningfully to society.
