Samar Colleges, Inc. successfully disbursed ₱2.7 million in financial aid to 270 student grantees under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) program of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on February 27, 2025. Each beneficiary received ₱10,000 for the second semester of Academic Year 2023-2024, providing financial support to help cover their educational expenses.
The Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), led by Scholarship Coordinator Ms. Cherry Angelie Florentino and School Accountant Mr. Jorlie Lapara, facilitated the distribution of the subsidies.
The TES program is a grant-in-aid initiative designed to cover full or partial educational expenses for eligible students enrolled in state universities and colleges (SUCs), CHED-recognized local universities and colleges (LUCs), and private higher education institutions (HEIs).
Samar Colleges, Inc. has been a recipient of CHED's TES program for years, helping thousands of college students avail the subsidy. This initiative reflects the school's commitment to making quality education more accessible to all its students.
