CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar | July 7, 2026 — Samar Colleges, Inc. (SC) has advanced its digital transformation agenda with the successful presentation of the SC Courseware to its Executive Committee (EXECOM), paving a way for a comprehensive campus-wide beta rollout across all departments, colleges, and academic levels for the School Year 2026–2027.
The pivotal EXECOM meeting, presided over by Chairman of the Board and President Mr. Rhett Caesar L. Piczon, featured an informative demonstration led by Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Senior Vice President for Programs Development and Quality Assurance (SVP-PDQA) who showcased the platform’s innovative capabilities, which are driven by SC Ilumina, the institution’s in-house artificial intelligence system.
The members of the PDQA team are present, namely: Mr. Peter Lee M. Lacanlale, OIC Director for Information Systems and Support Office (ISSO) and also the TWG Chair for Admin; Ms. Yanie Mae C. Cordero, TWG Chair for Basic Education; Ms. Ritchelle D. Jabagat, OIC Director for Quality Assurance; Mr. Victor M. Plasabas, Jr., OIC Director for Institutional Research, Innovation, and Services for Extension (IRISE) in support with presentation of the SC Courseware.
Framing the initiative as a paradigm shift in higher education, Dr. Cardoso emphasized that the SC Courseware transcends a standard technological upgrade. "This is our strategic response to one of academia's most pressing challenges," Dr. Cardoso stated. "By eliminating repetitive course preparation, we empower our faculty to reclaim their time—allowing them to have an in-depth focus on what truly matters: teaching, mentoring, inspiring, and transforming their students." She described the platform as an "intelligent teaching partner" designed to augment and support the educator's role.
The platform operates through a seamless, faculty-centric workflow. Instructors simply upload their course syllabi, and SC Ilumina assists in generating SMART learning outcomes, interactive activities and assessments. Crucially, the system ensures academic integrity and faculty autonomy; educators retain full control to review, refine, and approve all AI-generated outputs before they are deployed to students.
This marks a significant milestone in Samar Colleges, Inc.’s readiness for institutional beta testing. As the institution transitions into this next phase, the SC Courseware commits to utilize artificial intelligence to elevate instructional excellence, support its educators, and ultimately enrich the student learning experience.
