Criminology Defenders Dominate Mr. and Ms. Sports 2024: Criminology students Justine Ivan L. Gruta and Marielle Z. Lorenzo from Samar College triumphed in the Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024, showcasing their martial arts skills, particularly in the Filipino martial art of Arnis. This victory highlights the Criminology Defenders’ commitment to sports and Filipino heritage.
The Criminology Defenders at Samar College showcased their versatility, not only excelling in the arena of sports but also dominating in pageantry by bagging both titles for Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest 2024 held at the Samar College campus quadrangle last November 12 2024. Mr. Justine Ivan L. Gruta and Ms. Marielle Z. Lorenzo represented the Criminology Defenders, earning the prestigious crowns with exceptional finesse and skills, particularly in the traditional Filipino martial art of Arnis, specifically in the "Anyo" Spada y Daga form.

SC’S BIGGEST SPORTING TILT OPENS

The Intramural Meet—Sports and Music Fest 2024—brought together student-athletes, performers, and coaches from the Basic Education Department (Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School) and the Tertiary Departments (College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Management, College of Criminal Justice Education, College of Education, and Samar College Technological Institute) at the Samar Colleges, Inc. Quadrangle for its grand opening ceremony on November 12.
The opening ceremony was in full swing, beginning with a grand parade featuring students, athletes, performers, faculty, and employees of the institution. Following the presentation of colors, Ms. Clarice Culminas, a PRISAA Vocal Solo Regional Champion, led the Oath of Amateurism.
The banner-raising competition was one of the highlights of the opening ceremony. The Criminology Defenders hailed the champions, followed by the CBM Executives, SCTI Techtitans, COED Eagles, and CAS Advocates in the tertiary level. In the Basic Education Department, the SHS Vanguards won over the JHS Aces.
The quadrangle was filled with cuteness, creativity, and talents as the selected elementary, JHS, and SHS students showed their dance moves and energy as they performed the field demonstration.
Ms. Manuelilda Rosario A. Torrevillas officially declared the Intramural Meet 2024 open. The intramural meet runs from November 12 to 15, 2024, and highlights different sports and stage cultural competition.
SC CONDUCTS WRITE SHOP FOR NEW WEBSITE LAUNCH

In an initiative to enhance its global presence and accessibility, the Samar Colleges, Inc. (SC) Website Editorial Board and Staff conducts a two-day write shop on November 19–20, 2024 at Annex 4, in preparation for the official launch of the institution's new website.
With a long-term goal of establishing Samar Colleges, Inc. as a globally recognized educational institution, SC is taking a step forward by creating an accessible, modern online platform set to be at one’s fingertip on November 20.
Amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution, an era of digitalization, the new website will serve as a digital gateway, featuring the latest news, organizational structure, program offerings, students’ affairs, and other essential information about the institution.
The write-shop is a two-day session that includes briefing and content development on the first day, followed by the content review and refinement, website layout and design integration, and the official launch. It is a collective effort of the web administrators, consultants, editors, writers, layout artists, and technical support staff, composed of various department heads and employees from SC.
The launch of the new website will be streamed live in the official Facebook page of Samar Colleges, Inc.
