Free Legal Assistance Event Hosted by CCJE and Public Attorney’s Office: The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) at Samar College, in partnership with the PAO Catbalogan, provided free legal assistance to the community. The event included legal consultations and a sexual harassment awareness seminar for criminology students, promoting public service and student empowerment.

The Samar College - College of Criminal Justice Education (SC-CCJE), in partnership with the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) Catbalogan City District Office, has successfully concluded a Free Legal Assistance event aimed at providing accessible legal support to the community. Coordinated by Dr. Joseph Roque A. Pensotes Jr., Dean of SC-CCJE, and Atty. Mary Ann B. Llanera of PAO Catbalogan City, the event included free consultations on issues such as family law, property disputes, and other civil matters. Held at the new SC Building last July 7 2024. The initiative also offered practical learning opportunities for criminology students, allowing them to observe professional legal practices firsthand.

In addition to legal consultations, the partnership held a Sexual Harassment Awareness Seminar specifically for fourth-year criminology students. This seminar aimed to educate future law enforcement professionals on recognizing, addressing, and preventing sexual harassment, equipping them with knowledge essential for fostering respectful and safe environments within their communities.

Dean Pensotes praised the dual initiative, saying, “By providing both legal aid and awareness on critical issues, we are reinforcing our commitment to public service and empowering our students with essential skills and knowledge.” The College and PAO Catbalogan City look forward to future collaborations to serve the public and prepare students for meaningful careers in justice and law enforcement.
