CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines — The office of the Programs Development and Quality Assurance (PDQA) of Samar Colleges conducted a Learning Management System (LMS) orientation for the College of Criminal Justice Education (CoCJE) faculty on August 29, 2025, at the SC Criminology Library to strengthen digital teaching and learning delivery for the new academic year.

Serving as the resource speaker, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Senior Vice President for PDQA, provided a comprehensive discussion and demonstration of Samar Colleges’ Moodle-based LMS. Dr. Cardoso emphasized that the LMS empowers students to access lessons and assessments at their own pace, which aligns with the undergraduate programs’ weekly one-hour asynchronous class schedule.

Ms. Mary-Ann D. Abaigar, OIC Dean of CoCJE, expressed her optimism about the system’s potential to enhance teaching and learning. “I am confident that once we get the feel of the system, we’ll see how empowering a tool it can be for us,” Ms. Abaigar said.

The orientation included an open forum, where faculty members raised questions and shared feedback about integrating the LMS into their courses. Dr. Pedrito G. Padilla, Senior Vice President for Academic Programs, later delivered the closing remarks, commending the faculty for their readiness to embrace innovation in education.

By adopting the LMS, Samar Colleges moves closer to its vision of technology-driven education, giving criminology students flexible learning opportunities and access to resources that strengthen both classroom instruction and practical training.
